The Independent Writing Series of books from Topical Resources is an ideal tool for assessing pupil progress (APP) in writing, against the Primary Framework for Literacy. Assessment guidelines for writing are included at the beginning of each book. They are written to the Primary Strategy and cover the genres for pupils age 5 to 11. Handwriting
Handwriting Made Simple is a photocopiable activity book which teaches a very simple fully cursive style of handwriting where all lower case letters join. This negates the need for pupils to be constantly making decisions about when or when not to join letters. Work Books
‘My Word Bank of High Frequency Words’ contains the most commonly found words in the English language in a large-scale format for younger pupils to trace over. ‘My Try Personal Dictionaries’ contain the most common High and Medium frequency words found in the English language in a dictionary format. In this book, space is also given for pupils to build up their own individual word collection, which is essential for independent learning.
