Geography Books
Model Town is a unique resource designed to help pupils have great fun with a ‘Settlement Study’. One class plus simple photocopiable printed nets from the book equals a great fun and simple to build model town, which can be pinned to a notice board for all to see. Then, use the model to work with oblique and vertical aerial photographs (provided in the book), learn about plans, use map references, points of the compass, map symbols, scale and carry out geographical investigations in your own area. Research activities help pupils understand how the physical environment affects individual lives.
Step by Step Art in the Geography Lesson is a full colour teacher’s handbook which provides ideas for a number of simple, easy to follow, skill based art activities linked to a range of different geography topics relevant to the National Curriculum for Geography at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. There are several separate art activities for each of the geography topics covered. Each activity has its link to geography explained in the ‘talk about’ section, a list of materials needed, step by step instructions on how to undertake the work plus suggestions as to how the finished work could be displayed.
