Step by Step Art Whole School Program

Step by Step Art Books 1 to 6 offer a ‘Whole School Art Programme’ for teachers that need a little extra support to deliver this area of the curriculum. Each book contains skills based art activities with step-by-step instructions and colour examples of children’s work. Book 1 (Nursery/Reception), Book 2 (Key Stage 1), Book 3 (Lower Key Stage 2) and Book 4 (Upper Key Stage 2) contain activities for drawing, painting, printing, sculpture, collage and textiles. These books meet the requirements of the National Curriculum (including sketchbook work at KS2) and are ideal for the non-specialist. Book 5 contains stunning suggestions for Christmas displays and Book 6 shows how to develop art skills using a simple Art Computer program such as Dazzle.

The three books ‘Step by Step Art in the RE/History/Geography Lesson’ are full colour teacher’s handbooks which provide ideas for a number of simple, easy to follow, skill based art activities linked to a range of different topics relevant to the National Curriculum for History and Geography with suggestions for RE at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. There are several separate art activities for each of the topics covered. Each activity has its link to RE/History/Geography explained in the ‘talk about’ section, a list of materials needed, step by step instructions on how to undertake the work plus suggestions as to how the finished work could be displayed.
